Owh yes it is believe me. As far as I know they use the leaked 9.x keys to trick the console a real game is inserted. As soon as Nintendo updates its firmware Sky3ds will no longer be usable. ( speculating )Might have been already mentioned but:
Sky3DS may not be as F*CKED as we think.
Nintendo will most likely patch this kernel exploit. And if Sky3DS does turn out to be 1:1 copy of a retail game, then it should be unblockable.
Thus, if you have a 9.3 or higher 3DS/N3DS, and you don't want to buy a 4.5 or a 9.2 3DS, then Sky3DS could have some value if they remove the 10 game limit.
Yep, you're fine.
U is just the region, in this case U.S.
Mine is 9.2.0-20E, which matches the flag shown under my Avatar.
Make sure to turn off spotpass and wifi!
Could you check if its genuine?
Hmm? You say that Nintendo keys got leaked and Sky3DS are using them to run their cartridge? I've never heard of that. Source?Owh yes it is believe me. Turn off Wi-Fi and SpotPass.Maybe off topic but how do I disable automatic updates on my Nintendo 2DS? I don't want anything happening to it while I get my Gateway flash card.
Don't forget the video where someone managed to run more than 10 games on it.Sky3DS was fucked the moment they put that arbitrary 10 game limit on their card. Imagine if it was $30 cheaper and had no limit. There'd be some actual competition.
Something I posted a few pages back:
Also,
There are many examples, but I'll take fire emblem awakening for this example.
The game was released in 2013, yet it used a patch that was released in 2012.
- Fire Emblem Awakening was released in April 19, 2013 in Europe.
- This game has 4.5 firmware In the PAL release.
- 4.5 was released in December 4, 2012 in Europe.
It may be Europe only, But it seems updates are not relevant to the date of manufacture of the cartridge.
Conclusion: There may be a retail cartridge released later that might contain 9.0.0 update.

Turn off Wi-Fi.
That's the first thing I did and it is =)

The board is actually green, it only looks dark on the picture.

If they remove the limit, I'll put aside their history. I don't buy based on company loyalty, I buy based on product quality.
But now they knew the threat of gateway and still made the same mistake of releasing a buggy firmware. But we didn't know about gateway back then. :/

Well it seems genuine enough to me
Was it nicely wrapped when you received it?
I'm thinking of getting a new 3DS because of this now, correct me if I'm wrong but at this point emuNAND isn't even needed because we can install updates via .cia if we need to play online. But if a newer encryption is released for later games then it will be needed.
What exactly is ".cia"? Does that allow you to put a game on the SD Card and use it without the Gateway in the system?
The reason I ask is because I'm interested in importing a New 3DS and since this would allow region free, I'm hoping to dump any games I buy in the US and put them on the SD.
