That's what I used to think as well, but keep these facts in mind:
Gateway's support was announced right around the time Ninjhax got released.
Then 9.3 broke both Ninjhax and Gateway.
Might be a coincidence, however..
I went thru Gateway's old videos and I found even more evidence to suggest that they use the same exploit.
First 15 seconds, in the multi-rom menu we see Cubic Ninja.
This video was uploaded September 13, 2014.
At some point there's just too many coincidences to ignore this.
I'm feeling pretty confident the exploit is the same, except gateway has found a way to get more privileges.
You're saying that the only reason they'd have Cubic Ninja is because they were aware of the exploit.
But what if they... just liked the game?
Horrendous thought, I know, but bear with me![]()
Aw man, you're really going to make me have to dig around for that.
Fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiine ~

Thats a shame, did anyone by any chance received any compensations for their bricked consoles?
the ones that were considered to be deserving of such, yes.
the ones that were using clones, they got what they deserved
Well thats a bit over the top if you ask me. They could have just programmed the flashcard to be unusable or something not wreck the whole fucking system. But hey, thats not on me to decide - ive bought myself an OEM GW card so Im good to go.
BTW what did they get in return? Money or a new console?
Nicecan't say for sure about everyone, but the few consoles that were actually using a real GW were replaced/fixed and I heard of ppl receiving GW cards too
I said the same thing earlier. I'll even dig it up if you'd like. For sure sspwn and Gateway are the same.
smea spent days worth of coding NINJHAX so that no one can softmod to play 3DS, and gateway did the same to ensure that they stay in business and it is tied to their carts...
twice cubic Ninja is shown in their most recent videos. They both got hammered once they blocked 1 of 3 vulnerabilities. And guess what? both smea and GW said that their is a chance their hacks will be back for 9.3 soon enough, just more info came from smea, which makes sense since him and his softmodding team are less business minded than GW.
Is the GW site down again for anyone else?
Is the GW site down again for anyone else?
not necessarily, but if Smea finds it first, and releases NINJHAX, then 9.3/4 will be supported very soon as well. GW are more than capable of finding it themselves, just like the 4.x exploit.so basically gateway is waiting for smea?
THE HYPE IS REAL.![]()
Let me dream pleasethey're probably just reloading their latest backup of the website
I heard that the 4.x exploit was revealed and details were already public even before GW was released.not necessarily, but if Smea finds it first, and releases NINJHAX, then 9.3/4 will be supported very soon as well. GW are more than capable of finding it themselves, just like the 4.x exploit.
