Hmm... my opinion is:
There are ALWAYS ppl who are not happy with the regime in place. Whilst I think a rebellion or fight is the worst thing to do when you wanna essentially change the country. And from what I know, youth is surely one part who is not satisfied but it is also youth who will take over the country in a couple of years which might lead to a peacefully changing of the current situation.

This won't work sadly. The communist regimes prefer installing people who suit their beliefs so to keep the government stable. Why do you think Kim Jong Un was installed in Best Korea? He was the perfect figurehead, while the others work and control the behind-the-scenes.

In an ideal situation, you are right. But the world doesn't always spin the way it's supposed to.

How would they get a copy of their new firmware? Did they release it? I think not :/
A thought just passed through my mind. Imagine this scenario.
GW team realized that they will never be able to crack any other firmware again past 4.5. They see the appearance of sky3ds and realize that they are pretty much done with their profit cause any guy that had 4.5 consoles already has a gw3ds and there won't be any new 3ds consoles with 4.5 fw that will be able to use gw so gw sales are almost nothing. So they create this hype to sell their left over gw flashcards and cash out... I really hope I am wrong but that thought came to me when I read this

This is not an official product, and it might not be possible for the Gateway team to overcome higher firmware versions then the one listed here. We do not sell the device claiming that it will work with any firmware above 4.5 and any future firmware to come out (even if the team say they are working on it) does not mean that it is possible so do NOT order based on promises on another website. We do not offer refunds if you have an incompatible firmware version."

I hope I am just way too suspicious and 100% wrong but if indeed they realized that there was no chance for them to have support for any other firmware than 4.5 then this is a very possible scenario because they were pretty much done.. As I said before any 4.5 user that stayed on 4.5 has already his gw card and there was no chance of them selling any more cards since there was not going to be support for later firmwares.

As I said I first thought of this when I first noticed the note that I quoted previously and now I saw that their site is down for 6hours giving a website offline 522 error now....
