Well. There are actually a couple of reasons. First of all, according to the chinese ancient written history, there was a high general called Xu Fu who took 1000 chinese boys and girls and set afar to the island of Japan. If I remember right, I was told this happened around 210 B.C. The general was sent away because the king of that time wanted to find a medicine which can make him immortal and the general took the chance to get those ppl and set sail to the east and actually never came back. So from this part, a lot of chinese ppl regard part of the japanese ppl as their decendants.

This is also why the japanese language got around 10000 chinese traditional symbols (the chinese language was at around that level at that time)

It's pretty well-known that Chinese 漢字 were brought to Japan in multiple stages. So I don't think that (at least this part) is true.

It might be as u say it or it might be as my grandparents tell me
But for the first thing about the origin of japanese ppl, there are quite a few scientists (not only chinese but also american ones) who refer to this story as one outcome. So since its so far in the past who knows?

Are you saying that both Korea and Malaysia were unoccupied? I find that hard to believe.

Because, as far as I know, the legend goes: Japan was unoccupied when the General departed.

I agree with that. In North Best Korea, they are told that their first ruler of the regime was a god, and born in the mountains or some shit like that. China isn't the best place to receive proper historical education lol.
