Nope. Gateway card can't be read in the device.
Edit: Closest thing would probably involve the use of SaveDataFiller..

A release before the timer is up would be very nice, but realistically the timer will pass, and a screencap of a new gateway email saying something like "Final testing phase" or something will start circulating around, just to keep the carrot dangling in front of the horse.

I have it set up to check Gateways site once every 30 minutes. If it has changed at all since last check, it gives me an update.

No more F5ing needed and you're guaranteed to get the update within a half hour from release!
