In touch with the gateway team? Most likely due to him being the admin of Maxconsole which is the official forums for Gateway I'd you check GWs site.

I believe he also owns the site that gateway uses to host all of their updates, meaning he can literally know every time they upload anything.

He's in touch with GW team more than most, hosts their official forum, and has been quite deeply involved in commercial console mods for a decent number of years. His word isn't law, but it is a good deal more reliable than anyone else's random speculation in this thread.
