It's real, garyopa confirmed it himself quite a few times (even in an official European Ambassador N3DS post), so there's a really good chance this is legit. Assuming garyopa/GW is being for reals right now...

I agree w/ this, SOOO MUCH! I've changed my mind on piracy so many times it will challenge the number of girls a high school boy fantasizes about.

If you hate piracy, you really are in the wrong place. The bulk of the people on this forum are pirates, and you will never convince those who do pirate to not, don't even try.

OTOH, if you're a pirate don't try to convince people who aren't to be one or insult them for buying their software. Some one has to insure the survival of the software industry by paying for their work, and not everyone who pays for their software is "stupid" and just needs to learn about R4 cartridges.

Both sides are used to being attacked and are thus very defensive, but try not to over react. Really, express your side when it's relevant, just don't preach it. It will only result in a flame war... And deleted posts... And maybe bans.
