Hacking Gateway 3ds: A9LH, Downgrade, Release Planned on May 22nd

The biggest issue I have with this process is the fact it installs A9LH in 2.1 sysNAND. This can't go right as you can't even close the lid as n3ds user or you will brick.

The A9LH install process is super quick, and it actually doesn't matter whether or not you're on 2.1 sysnand or not. I also don't think anyone's going to close the lid during such an important process (even though that section should only take less than a second)

Except it happened. More than once even. People don't take the time to realise how dangerous 2.1 on n3ds is.

Disappointed to hear that, and yet I am somehow not too surprised... Would be nice if they fixed that, although I would think more emphasis about the dangers would make more sense. (How on earth did they put it in sleep mode in the fraction of a second it was installing A9LH? Or are you referring to the downgrade to 2.1 itself?)

Simply being on 2.1 sysNAND and closing the lid, resulting in sleep mode causes a brick. This might be because the internet downloaded the update for 11.0 o3ds, but one of the bricked people told us he wasn't on the internet.

I already use a9lh with luma I just wanted them to release something that worked with what we have and didn't require emunand. I should've expected them to release something like this.

same here, i was expecting a paylaod bin file to go with luma cfw.

they could have made it like playing it like any other payload but obviously with their red GW card in so that then you can boot into the latest updated sysNAND.
but oh well, i guess it is time to either create an emuNAND again or just go with ntr in luma.

If your hashes manage to be the exact same, there is not watermark on your files, and you're technically free to share them.

Can u launch the gateway menu (with new launcher.dat) from a 10.3 Sysnand and make a NAND-backup then?

I really think people should make a thread with all that was found until now regarding the install of the exploit and other things in this new release in order to avoid fake info being thrown around.

No, we aren't allowed to do that. Plus the alphas are watermarked.

From what we've seen, they aren't at all and contain the exact same files as any other alpha.
