How do i get into emnnand mode, just run the expliot and then Boot into Gateway mode thats emunand mode right?
You need to choose 'format emunand' first to make an emuNAND partition on your SD card. Once that is done, boot gateway mode, and go into settings and then update to 9.5. This will update your emuNAND to 9.5 while leaving sysnand at the original fw.

Cool thanks!. Im guessing its also safe to update the system in emunand mode on the older 3ds systems as well if using the new launcher.dat found in the 3.1.0 public beta?

Yea when you launch GW you're in emunand. If you go into system settings, your firmware version number should say "GW3D" then your firmware. Like in attached pic.

I've been reading people experience a bug where it won't say GW before your firmware version. If this happens to you, set your emunand to a different theme to tell the difference between sys nand and emunand.

Ok thanks for that. Forgot that running format emunand formats all the stuff on your sd card, i now have to copy all my games back to it. I take it the emunand partition on the sd card is invisible as im not see it now ive run the format emunand?

The emuNAND partition shows up as unallocated space in Disk managment
I recommend GParted for formatting the whole card as FAT32

Well some reason the theme transfered across emunand and system nand. I created a folder in the emunand though which didnt appear in the sys nand. I am hoping that is a good indication that I was actually in Emunand cause i started the update. Keeping my fingers crossed

Regarding setting a different theme for EmuNAND, i booted into EmuNAND and set the theme to the standard Blue theme i then checked in systems to see what my FW version was and it said GW3D 9.0.0-20E i then exited and turned off the N3DS. I then powered on again without loading the exploit via the zelda cart but the theme was still the blue theme, shouldnt it have been the default theme as i didnt boot into EmuNAND?

EDIT: I have also noticed if you boot in to EmuNAND and check your FW version via the system menu and then go back to the home screen and then check the FW version again via the system menu it reverts back to the system FW and not the EmuNAND version anymore. Does this actually deactivate emunand mode or is it just a bug where it reverts back to showing the system FW verison?

Well it payed off. Emunand was indeed updated and I am now doing a system transfer. I think creating a folder in emunand is a good indicator as it does not show up in sys nand

Yep and now im fucked well my system transfer is cause its in a boot loop

Turn off Wi-Fi, then boot up Gateway mode, it will say you need to set up the internet, say no and you can abort the transfer. Afterwards you can then connect to wifi and go into the eShop and it will link your NNID.

So has anyone succesfully done a system transfer from an old 3DS to the new 3DS (with both systems running EmuNand)? I have successfully updated my New 3DS to the latest system version thanks to EmuNand, so i would like to move my account from my old 3DS to my New 3DS. Instead of doing a system transfer cant i just log into the eShop with my details from my old 3DS and then just redownload my purchases instead of doing the system transfer?
