March break is next week in Canada, which brings a lot of
opportunities to do awesome things. My friends and I decided that we
should do a gaming marathon in hopes that people will watch and donate
their money to a good cause. The money will go straight to the Child's
Play charity. If you don't know what child's play is, it is a
foundation that gets donation money collected by events like these, to
buy handhelds, consoles and other toys to give to unfortunate, sick
children in hospitals.

We will be streaming ourselves through video and having the game we're
playing being streamed as well. The channel is located here:
http://www.mogulus.com/VidyaMarathon
If you wish to donate, scroll down and click on the "chip in!" button,
to redirect yourself to the paypal site.

Our list of games is not final, and is open to have anything added to
it. Remember, we've played all these games before, so I'm certain we
will go through these in less than three days. The list so far
contains:

  • Phantasy Star Online (Warm-Up)[*]The Legend of Zelda[*]Kirby's Adventure[*]Super Mario World[*]The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past[*]Donkey Kong Country[*]Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest[*]Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble[*]Super Mario RPG[*]Super Mario 64[*]The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time[*]Spyro the Dragon[*]Paper Mario[*]???-Mystery Game-???

If you feel like there should be any other games to be included on the
list, feel free to give us a suggestion (on the forums or at
[email protected])

We will be starting the Marathon MONDAY AFTERNOON and continue on
until WEDNESDAY EVENING (or later), from these times, the stream will
be continuously on and can be viewed at anytime during those days.

At the time of this writing, we've been playing for 14 hours and are currently playing through The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past.
We have recieved $110 in donations so far, so thank you to everyone who's donated!

I would donate some money, if I had a PayPal account.
Great initiative though!
Keep it up!

Sounds awesome, even though I missed a lot of it. I love watching gaming marathons. It's just so fun to see how they play and how they act while playing. I should try to do one this summer, or on Easter break. Also, it's nice to see people gaming for a cause.

I just did a marathon with Resident Evil 4. It's perfect for playing long periods of time. I beat it basically in a day, and it's a 16 hour game.
