"GameStop have a preorder deal running for Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars. If you put money down on the game early, you'll receive $10,000 in-game cash and immediate access to every single in-game weapon.

Uh, what? Giving preorder customers access to an "exclusive" weapon or in-game hat, that's one thing, but effectively enabling a cheat mode for the game? Kinda stupid. No! Very stupid.

Course, there will be those for whom this sounds amazing. Those people do not share my concept of "work for your assault rifles", and as such, are to be ignored."

Since when has a GTA game come out without cheats? Every single one has done it, and it's not like they're programming it into each individual cartridge that preorders it. It'll be a slip of paper like every other in game perk, which will be a button code, which will be put on GameFAQs' Cheat Page the following day.

Failure of a pre-order bonus. In-game item bonuses only work well for MMOs.

I have always hated Gamestop for their stupidity and scamming ways but this takes the cake I think... This is almost like bribing someone to preorder the game. Are sales down that damn much?

And the bribe they are offering is the equivelent of air!!!

Looks like I have some gamestops to call tomorrow.

I think this is my 1,500th post... Wow 500 posts in a bit over a month...

These cheats will be implemented in the cheat database anyways, so why preorder when I can access them for free?

Probably cheats already injected into the card.

But then, they will lose business from the non-cheaters.

but this preorder bonus is not worth it, after the game is released the code or whatever way to unlock will be on the net.

They've been having stupid preorder bonuses a lot lately. Gears of War 2 had the Golden Weapon code, and Call of Duty World at War gave you access to a powerful gun online 60-some levels early. It's ridiculous. What happened to the old days of T-Shirts and little collector figures?

It would be interesting to see how many people actually pre-order at GameStop for the "exclusive" cheats.
