Seeing as December was lackluster enough to not warrant a GotM and that my schedule will probably be busy during my break, I figured I'd give you January early.
If I missed a game you really want coverage on then simply send your write up to me (via PM). If it's good enough and follows proper formatting I'll add it here with credit to you! Check the "Other Releases" section at the bottom to see what games I would want write ups for but am not all too qualified to do myself. You can also do write-ups for games I didn't even list. Sometimes things slip my eye.
From now on, I'm going to include a template for submissions. Simply fill in the template below and PM me.

Some rules and stuff.
- This is mainly North American releases, sorry. I'll, on occasion, do a European or Japanese release if it's big enough and not already out in America.
- If a game is already released in English and is being released again for another region, I won't bother adding it. Like say if Half Life 2: Episode 3 was out in America in April (it won't) and it came out in May in Europe, I won't list it for May. I'll also do the same if a game was released in English (aka Europe or America) and is being released in Japan.
- I get my dates from GameFaqs, Wikipedia, and IGN, so if a date is wrong don't blame me. You can, of course, point it out and ask me to fix it if you have the right date.
Platform: 3DS, PSP

Release date: January 3rd (North America)
Genre: RPG
My Hype Level: Eh, I'll wait for another dungeon crawler
GBAtemp Hype Level: Huh?
Wow, looks like the PSP still has one more game left in it, even if it's multiplat. I had to research this game a bit (previously I was just gonna omit handheld games altogether for this month seeing as the releases are rather small but I felt we deserved at least one. So apparently this is some sort of first person dungeon crawler (think Etrian Odyssey, Legend of Grimrock, SMT: Strange Journey, Wizardry, etc). I didn't bother looking much upon that but it should be up someone's alley. Considering the lack of 3DS RPGs and the lack of recent PSP releases, this may be worth looking into.
Platform: Xbox 360, Playstation 3
Developed by: Platinum Games
Published by: Sega
Release date: January 8th (North America), January 9th (Australia), January 11th (Europe)
Genre: Beamup
My Hype Level: IT'S ALIVE AND I WANT IT
GBAtemp Hype Level: Eh
I was generally apathetic towards the 2012 releases in general (Mass Effect 3 being my exception) but 2013 kicks off with one of my most anticipated games in a long time. The MadWorld spiritual successor almost never planned to hit outside of Japan, but now it is. At $30. What's not to love? Remember: pre-order the game and you get Bayonetta as a playable character. Otherwise, the game looks really fun and if you liked MadWorld, you'll love this.
Platform: Xbox 360, Playstation 3, PC (at a later date)
Developed by: Ninja Theory
Published by: Capcom
Release date: January 15th (North America, Europe, Australia), January 17th (Japan)
Genre: Action
My Hype Level: Barf
GBAtemp Hype Level: Puke
This infamous game has been doing nothing but pissing off fans and looking like a general crapfest. And rightfully so. The demo wasn't too exciting, gameplay seemed way too easy to just spam with compared to previous DMC games, and the aesthetic is beyond terrible. There's character assassination, and this. To anyone seeking a good DMC game, go pick up the HD Collection, not this insulting crapshoot.
Platform: Xbox 360, Playstation 3, PC
Developed by: The Farm 51
Published by: Nordic Games
Release date: January 22nd (North America, Europe)
Genre: FPS
My Hype Level: Never interested in the game
GBAtemp Hype Level: Will peek a few interests
For PC owners, Painkiller's remake has been out for a while, but this it's hitting for console owners. Painkiller was kinda a cult classic, notable for being one of Yahtzee Croshaw's (of Zero Punctuation) favorite games. It got sorta mixed reviews on the PC, but it's also only $20 if you want to experiment a bit.
Platform: Playstation 3
Developed by: Level-5, Studio Ghibli
Published by: Namco Bandai
Release dates: January 22nd (North America), January 25th (Europe)
Genre: RPG
Lurker 2's Hype Level: Can't say I find anything from Level-5 more than "average"
GBAtemp Hype Level: OMG LEVEL-5 BUT WE WANT IT ON THE DS ;O;
People were crying profusely over the lack of a DS localization but quit your crying, at least it's coming. The game gathered a weaboo fanbase for its Studio Ghibli art and Level-5 nametag. Personally, I never found Level-5 games to be that good, just kinda eh. But hey, you're getting this game, be happy.
Most of these are titles I really don't know much about so write-ups are much appreciated
- Like none really, just keeping this here so it's easy to copy-paste for next month.
