I have a cousin that's 4 years old. She's a girl.. obviously pointed that out in the title. I'm just wondering what kind of games are good for her. I know there are many topics that are similar to this one, and I apologize for creating another. But most of the games I looked over suggested by people involves reading. She can't read yet, but if there are any games that teachers her to read, that is highly welcomed as well.

So far I have:

Nintendogs
Mario Kart
Cooking Mama
New Super Mario Bros.

Mario Kart may involve a bit of reading, but all she needs to know is how to drive. Steer left, right, and use items. Not much harder than that.. she doesn't need to know about snaking.

Cooking Mama involves a bit of reading as well, but she pretty much understands through pictures because of the directional arrows in some of the events, like the cutting of vegetables.

Anyways, more about my cousin: she loves animals. So any of those GOOD virtual pet games would be perfect. Educational would be good too.. don't suggest Brain Age though. It's too hard for her. Thanks for all the help guys.

Ah, I forgot to mention she LOVES disney.

@Joey R. : It's true. I would restrain from giving my own children (if I had any

) games when they're that young, but her mom already got her a DS for a while now.. its too late.

Thanks for the feedback. Keep them coming.

Edit: What're the "good" Imagine games? Kind of a hard question since many of us don't play it.. but might as well give it a shot.

ok, wtf did you smoke?
that's what you should suggest to the strangers feeding 4year old girls "candy", not to 4 year old girls.
it's colorful but definitely not a game for little girls.

Not sure about the DS, but I found the Barbie and the Magic of Pegasus game on the GBA very enjoyable. Other than the plot there isn't much in terms of reading.

Just look for everything most people on GBAtemp would define as "shovelware" or a "cash-in". A lot of the time you'll find a pretty damn good platformer. Take a good look at all the disney stuff that's been released, too.

For a boy, I suggest Star Dudez Likes the EEwoks is the famed sequel to Star Menz Like to Attack of Clones. It comes out October 35th 1875. IM SO EXCITED. it has a great soundtrack. Google it.

For a girl, maybe disney went to town.

Inylo, this is a sincere topic. Go to Edge of Forum.

Hmmmm... Maybe, Drawn to Life? Spongbob Edition? Or maybe Neopets Puzzle Adventure? There's a new one I saw, and it has an early childhood rating... That one has to be good because it's suited for a really young age, and even says so. It's called "Wonder Pets! Save the Animals"

EDIT: Oh, can't forget Kirby, the super tuff pink puff. That one's definitely a winner. Tetris? I know it doesn't really seem like it's for kids, but if she gets the hang of it she could be a champ at it when she's older, lol.

EDIT 2: Maybe Warioware Touched?

Don't worry about Inylo, he's banned now lol.

I'm currently looking at some of the games suggested. I'll post back with results. Thanks for more suggestions.

i think i heard of that, it's a good idea, shouldn't need a dedicated GPU just to run a LLM or video upscaling
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the nvidia shield tv has AI video upscaling
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
LLMs can be run on cpu anyway but it's quite slow

Have you ever been beaten by a wet spaghetti noodle by your girlfriend because she has a twin sister, and you got confused and fucked her dad?
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I had a girlfriend who had a twin sister and they would mess with me constantly.... Until one chipped a tooth then finally I could tell them apart.... Lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
They would have the same hair style the same clothes everything... Really messed with my head lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
@The Real Jdbye, I could see AMD trying to pull off the CPU GPU tandem thing, would be a way to maybe close the gap a bit with Nvidia. Plus it would kinda put Nvidia at a future disadvantage since Nvidia can't make X86/64 CPUs? Intel and AMD licensing issues... I wonder how much that has held back innovation.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
i don't think nvidia wants to get in the x64 cpu market anyways
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
you've seen how much intel is struggling getting into the gpu market
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
and nvidia is already doing ARM
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
i don't think they want to take more focus away from their gpus
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Yeah I think Nvidia s future lays in AI GPU acceleration stuff if they can get that going it's going to be super interesting in the long term
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
AI assisted game creation might become a thing
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
At least that's something I think would be pretty cool.

Don some VR glasses and gloves and talk to the computer and paint entire worlds

"Now we need a spring fed river flowing down the north side and add some wild life appropriate for the biome"
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Many TBs of assets and the programming of something like that is going to be tough but I think it's something we might see in 20 years maybe sooner
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@Psionic Roshambo AI assisted game creation is kinda already here, there was recently that AI that can turn any 2D image into a fully modeled 3D object, it's not perfect, but it's a starting point, beats starting from zero
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
before that there was one to generate a fully modeled scene from a 2D image
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but most recently, there was one that actually generates a working unity scene with terrain and textures already set up that you can import right into unity, that's a huge time saver right there
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
and using LLMs to generate NPC dialogue and even dynamically generated quests is something i'm sure is already happening
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
will just take some time for games made using those things to be completed and released
