Games Exhibition thingy this year in the UK?

For the past few years now there's been some relatively big games event in the UK. 2004 was Game Stars Live, 2005 was the Nintendo Booth at the Balloon Festival and 2006 had the History of Video Games thingy where you could see all of the older consoles and also play on the Wii and PS3.

So, it's nearing the second half of the year again and I wouldn't getting my thumbs dirty and possibly my elbow aching, so does anybody know of any games events happening in the UK this year? I haven't heard anything as such yet, but I haven't really bneen looking much yet. I actually found out about Game Stars Live from here, so I figured it'd be best if I asked here!

Personally I thought ECTS was the big one in '04 but still.

UK wise there are a few developers/publishers conferences if I recall correctly but I think most are holding out for Leipzig in 5 weeks.

If there are plans to hold any decent events this year in the UK then I'll most likely be going if it isn't too far away.

gamestars was not too bad.

Best was ECTS in 1998 it was great, and the following year or two after was decent before it went downhill in the '00s.

Bloody hell, I'm getting really annoyed with the Games Industry thinking just becuase it's in some other country in Europe, UK will be pleased. We need a proper games event over here...

Microsoft is planning an event for the UK later this year (link).

Remember when Shigsy came to Oxford Street in 2003? I soooo wanted to go to that but I was young, I hadn't been to London before and my parents wouldn't let me skip school to go down. I was really upset about that!

Can't wait till I get back to Uni, I will get to go to things like this cheaper and in some case, ones that the general public wont' be able to.
