While we're not sure just how we missed it, it seems GamePark was at E3 2010 in force, with a brand-new Linux gaming portable called the Caanoo. Though it's got the same 533MHz ARM9 processor as its wizardly predecessor, GamePark's doubled the memory to 128MB, and added a dedicated 3D GPU to power the larger 3.5-inch touchscreen. Throwback Sega-like buttons and a joystick take the place of those touchy D-pads, and there's new accelerometer and vibration functions for a modicum of enhanced control. When you're not loading open-source games, the system supports the usual array of photos and music as well as DivX, XviD and MPEG4 videos, and the company claims an official SDK and app store are on the way if you want to roll additional software yourself. Shame you'll have to use a WiFi dongle to download anything. The company expects to ship August 15 for $150 to importers like Play-Asia, making it viable competition for the lumbering Pandora. Find videos of the Caanoo in action after the break, and more at GamePark's official Facebook page. [/p]

Honestly, I've bought the GP2X, and the Wiz before, and it ends in disappointment after the d-pad stops me from properly enjoying the games.

And this thing still lacks a d-pad.

Doesn't look too bad, infact much better.
I'd love to give it a try one day.
Never had the chance to try the older ones but always wanted to try em.

Ooh, the black one actually looks quite nice.

Infact, it looks like a sexy GBA.

You can pre-order it at Play-asia already, they love to sell these things.

They're still selling the GP2X Wiz, for about $142, but once the Caanoo comes out I doubt those will sell any more.

Anyway, this is the part that most interests me.
    Caanoo: 146(w) x 70(h) x 18.5(d)mm
    Wiz: 121x61x18 mm

The main turn off for me was that the Wiz was too damn small!

Was kinda hoping it was an early version. Cause theres something missing.... the D-pad.
Seems like a rather integral piece to throw away from the design.
Hopefully that analog stick is strong enough.
Though most portable analog sticks tend to be rather bad so I'd say it was a poor choice.
If it is both analog and clicks in place for each direction then it might be the best analog stick ever.

Also thought they would continue the whole touch screen thing.

I'll agree on the sexy GBA look though.
I also agree on size. I do like large handheld consoles over small.
