So, I pop in Super Smash Bros. to give the compatibility a try (I figured its 100% cause' it's Nintendo, but I'm nervous about everything [IMG])

And I could SWEAR that the graphics are smoother/brighter... It looked different, is it just all in my head or is the wii doing something with the antialiasing and light bloom?

im gonna try more games in a bit..... make sure im not hallucinating

They would have heavily publicized this if it were true, you know?
Although, Nintendo being piss-poor at marketing, I wouldn't put it past them.

Well the Gamecube games i tried looked worst on Wii than on GC. But that is because i use S-video on GC and i'm stuck with the damn standard cable on the wii.

Do you have it plugged into an HDTV using the composite cables? Even if the games were upscaled to 480p they'll still look better.

Same thing here, on the same television(no HD) the game cube is hooked with an s-video and the Wii with standard composite cables...for the moment.
    The Cube looks better obviously.
But I think I like to plau GCN on the Wii because of the easy front loading drive. It's really easier to load a game in.
Plus seems like Nintendo went a long way to ensure compatibility with the GC, in fact there is room for GC memory cards( that actually work ONLY with GC games),and for the GC controllers(that work only with GC games) and I wonder when new Wii games start to come out will I ever use all those ports, which surely werent cheap to implement.
I mean why can't I use them for anything else but play GC games ? It would be cool if they were usable for something Wii related, it's not like I didn't play most GC games yet. And I still keep my GCN next to the Wii still hooked to the TV.
Too many questions. I better stop thinking about it and go back to play some Wii.

Gamecube contollers will be used to play Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

Also I think they work as Virtual Console controllers but I am not sure.

I jsut saw a video of the shopping channel (or whatever the name is) and I'm quite sure I saw that you can use the gc controllers to play downloaded games.

GC games may look better because the Wii's got a better video output

I want to know if GC games can be played in 480p mode. A lot of cube titles could be played in 480p on a GC with the component cables, will they still be able to play in 480p mode on a Wii with component cables?

It is probably just a better output.

The plantinum GC has FAR better output. everything is brighter and crisper.
