    You can use the following.

    Mini-DVD 1 GC game

Full-DVD 1 GC or more using GCOs MultiGame.

DVD+R/-R work fine. +RW/-RW should work as well. If you don't have a WiiKey or anything that states 'Booktype need not be set' then you must set the booktype for +R media (Chiip requires it)

    I use Verbatim DVD+R burned with CloneDVD2 at 1x.

    Works like a charm.

I burn at 2.4x and it works wonderful. I think 1x is overkill.

Does the burner actually even burn that slow? Most will let you choose 1x and actually burn closer to 2x anyhow.

Do you do imageburn? Does it really consistently burn at 1x?

The GC backup process must be much more mature than the Wii.. I haven't burned a bad GC image yet (even using cheap Maxell discs burned at 16x)..

After several different burner/speed/disc combinations, I finally found my perfect Wii burning sequence: Sony +R discs burned at 4x on a Lite-On DVDR.. No DREs yet!
