I have this file on my PC Monkey_Island_Chapter_one_NTSC-U.wad

I have a softmodded (thanks to this forum) 4.2E wii

What do I do with this file??
Are there any dangers?

and wad u install has the potential to brick u, if u got it from a reliable source, it should be fine.

but u would install it with wad manager, then it would become a channel on your system menu... but like i said, if its a bad wad, it can brick u (unless u have bootmii as boot2)

a safer way to play the game is to play it using triiforce, research how to get that working, then use showmiiwads to copy the wad to your emulated nand so u can play it with triiforce. It will either work, or not work, but in either case no changes will be made to ur wii using this method.

I will go down the triiforce route as I can afford another wii if I brick this one.

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

It's old but it's the best firmware out for DS stuff
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
it says it only works for the original R4, R4i Gold (r4ids.cn), R4iDSN (r4idsn.com) and Acekard R.P.G.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:

Just give it a try, but honestly if you have a 3DS you can play DS games without a card just off the internal SD card
