Max.Payne.3.XBOX360-iMARS also appeared as XPG was supposedly a repack or something (it has yet to be nuked and even if it was it would be for repack so carry on).

This looked quite interesting and indeed quite promising (it is also the last RPG until August when Risen 2 comes out although Borderlands 2 is out about a month later). I'd be a lot more excited about it if you got to play as people from the show, instead of just random people they made up. I mean, that's really the only reason you get a liscensed game - I didn't buy Lego harry potter to play as some random hogwarts student.

I don't know, I mean there is the projection onto a known character thing but equally there is the trouble you either make an alternate universe (or risk making one if your player wants to stab one of the main characters or indeed save them), get constrained by the story (it is not actually that action heavy and trying to simulate spycraft, economic issues and such gets very complex very quickly and in some ways does not lend itself to a game), set it outside the timeframe of a story (or between parts of one) or expand the story/use it as a loose framing device (Goldeneye on the N64 being a great example).

Equally there is a fairly popular pen and paper RPG based on the series which seems like it thrives precisely because you do not have t play as characters from the series (I have never actually played a pen and paper RPG but I read the rulebook to the game of thrones/song of ice and fire RPG the other day and it was pretty good) not to mention half the fun of the books for many and a lot of fantasy in general is the idea of the game universe.

There is certainly a place for a faithful adaptation/retread but I would not go so far as to call it the be all and end all.
