So walmart has refurbished 16GB note 10.1's on sale for $280
http://www.walmart.com/ip/Samsung-G...4373077577645&veh=aff&wmlspartner=lw9MynSeamY

Since there is no walmart in my state I wont get charged sales tax and free shipping so the final price is $280

I was think about upgrading to it from my Acer A500 (mid 2011), I just want something smooth like my s3, the a500 seems to get laggy when you install alot of app for some reason, I already installed CM10 on it with an overclock script (1.6ghz vs the stock 1ghz) and it still feels laggy to me, I also run a live wallpaper on it so that might be a reason.

Anyway I could sell the a500 for about $175 since its unlocked and has custom firmware and recovery along with case, orginal box, hdmi cable, and usb cable. I have a few other tablets I need to get rid of (Coby Kyros 7042 and some junk slyvania tablet) that would make up the extra $100. There is also the new note 10.1 around the corner. I have no interest in buying it since it will be $550 or so but there might be a price drop. But its rumored to have a 1600x1280 250ppi and snapdragon 800.

The current note 10.1 has 2GB ram and a quad core Exynos 4 which is better then the tegra 3, 1280x800 w/149 ppi (thats the worst part) and seems like it will be relevant for a few more years
the a500 has the same exact res and ppi so I wont notice anything different on that front
samsung also used a priority connector in their tabs for whatever reason even though everything else they make uses micro usb, even the note 8.0, so I would have to buy another cable or converter to make it usb

TL;DR ver:
Is it worth it to upgrade to the note 10.1 from the Acer A500 for $280?

also, please dont recommend the new nexus 7 or even 10 instead
no microsd port, not interested

It will be, the note is a really awesome and useful tablet, it can be used for School, work etc and it runs games buttery smooth and all other apps as well of course. And multiview is also an epic feature.

that way I can use my current plethora of micro cables

it went down to $250 so I pulled the trigger, too good of a price (even with the next gens ones around the corner)
