Hacking G6DS Real - Download play compatibility list

Hi everybody,

Happy owner of a G6 Lite, I'm considering purchasing a G6DS Real (16GB) but I'm a bit concerned about Download play compatibility.

I have gathered some information based upon different websites and reviews and here is my DL play compatibility list :

I would like to know if there has been improvement with the latest firmware (2.2B).
Could some of you help me update/correct this compatibility list (mostly for Non working games) ?

By the way, I know that CycloDS Evo has perfect DL play compatibility but I have tested it with a 1GB MiJ Kingston microSD and I experienced little slowdowns with Tony Hawk's DJ.
Moreover, most of the time, the 2 carts I tried were not recognised by the 3 DS lites and 2 DS I used.
I'm not saying that the CycloDS is a bad product but for now, I would like to stick with the G6 Team.

Actually, I would like to have a global idea of the overall compatibility but I'm especially interested to know if the following games work:
- Big Brain Academy
- Clubhouse Games / 42 All Time Classics
- Metroid Prime Hunters
- Puyo Pop Fever 2
- Star Fox Command
- Worms: Open Warfare

Could you specify the firmware you use ?

The CycloDs not being recognized is a hardware issue, and can be replaced for free by the support team.

Metroid Prime Hunters does not work (I've read this on various sites - I think Moddz was one of them). This may have been fixed in the recent update though, but I don't think that kernel has been released. If you hold a strong interest in download play, get that replacement off TeamCyclops; they can guarantee you a 100% working unit for no cost.

I totally agree that this is a hardware issue but my main concern is about the little slowdowns (yes, i'm picky).
With regards to the replacement, it was my brother's CycloDS and he prefered to get a refund and wait.

I hope that the recent update has improved the DL Play.
At least, that's what I read from ahtin in the "G6 Real 16GB" topic.

Finally, I might consider buying a CycloDS Evo if I feel like there is no room for improvement with DL play of the G6DS Real.

My loader is 2.2
I tested the following 5 games for you

- Big Brain Academy
- Clubhouse Games / 42 All Time Classics
- Metroid Prime Hunters
- Star Fox Command
- Worms: Open Warfare

Only MPH worked, all the rest started with communication errors, so I guess they didn't do much with download play in the new loader

Well they made MPH work now, so they can just keep improving. I may pick myself up a 2GB G6DS Real later if no other promising flashcards come out

Yeah, I"m sure they'll keep improving download play until it's perfect. It's just annoying they're being so lazy about it. I mean, we all know it can be done, now they just have to do it.

Still though, the G6 Real is my favorite cart. Download play doesn't matter to me at all.

Thanks GirAiD and furfoot for these tests, I updated the list.
It seems from the test results and from what I've read that Metroid Prime Hunters and Picross have been fixed with the firmware 2.2 which is better than nothing.

I would also thank the people that wrote the following reviews :

- GBAtemp.net review of the G6DS Real.
They are very useful to create and maintain my list.

I hope that we will be able to fill the blanks and see if the download play is better or worse than 73% (current estimation from known games).

If we judge from ahtin English i say for sure that he is an insider. Perhaps even the "boss" of the G6/M3 Team.

someone said they are working on dl play and have a good result in testing, but dont trust anyone until release
