Hacking G6 Real + 100% Download Play...

I emailed Danny (a member of the G6 Team) about 100% Download Play and when/if it will be coming and he recently replied to me saying a firmware update will be available soon (for sure).

Just thought everyone would like to know

I am talking to Danny about the 16Gbit homebrew issue also (some homebrew wont work on the 16Gbit that does on the 8Gbit). He wants some more information, anyone care to provide me with some to forward to him?

Yeah, there have been plenty of firmware updates and still no 100% yet. :C

It has been fixed, but not yet on the G6. I don't see what the problem could be.. the G6 runs games better than the M3R does

Yep. If I recall correctly, they announced it shortly before the first "release date", which was March 28th 2007 (which we all know never happened until another 2 months had passed).

That's great news if it really does happen soon, since users of the M3 DS Real will get it too, seeing as how the G6 & M3 DS Real use the exact same identical firmware/system software.

M3 DS Real can already do 100% download play - though the method they use to run games is very rough (disables all software related things, eg. soft reset, and probably does something else).

They have promised 100% download play for a long time now, but the G6 may never get it.

Well it doesn't seem like it is possible to buy the G6 Real anymore so I'd say there is sweet fat all chance we will see much more firmware for it.

Nobody is actually sure. But I guess we just have to follow the crowd for now and assume its gone. Not all bad though - M3R updates come in quickly and they are compatible (maybe not to a high degree) so there should be no complaints yet

There's also the possibility they are short on components.

I own a G6 Lite and I was planing on using the G6 Lite for GBA and the G6 real for NDS. Mmmm which is the best flash cart to get right now? The G6 Real got my attention because of the cheat function for DS games.

I think the support for the G6 Real will be great! But I don't know when they'll add Download Play compatibly.

You could go for the M3 Real. It has everything the G6 Real has + Download Play compatibly. It uses external storage (MicroSD(HC)) though. Oh, and Wii Connectivity with Pokemon Battle Revolution won't work.
