Hacking G6 Lite secret codes to get it working again

And I know about the beta firmware, but it doesnt work with the latest u-disk manager

so to play all games you still need to update your chinese g6 lite....

In what way? As I said, I am using the beta and I have U-Disk 4.4 and i just got done loading Open Season (not all that great, but what do you expect from a movie title) so I don't think that is right. (in another words, Beta + 4.4 = works for me.)

Maybe you could start a temporary thread for the results of any test experiences. Then if it is widely agreed that this does work you could sticky it. I do believe though that the word should be spread about the ability to wipe the main memory without the need for a PC. It will probably help lots of situations.

Mod's would you at least sticky the fact that these codes are available. Even if you're not convinced that they work. Surely G6 lite users have to be informed that they exsist. This topic has been viewed plenty of times but it is still falling off the board.

I see nothing with regard to maintainance codes in your current stickies. My second G6 followed my first into a coma and yet again I fully recovered it with these codes, no problem at all.

Btw there is a secret code for doing a SRAM PSRAM test on the card, the combination is LRAB. One of my friends found it out.

all was fine for aprox 1 week then all data went corrupt on nds no load any more.
tried reinstalling loader software no go.
so eventually tried formatting both thru windows and using g6 utility for formatting on cd in box.
both failed stating unable to format drive light flashed on drive for a few minutes then gave error message.
any ideas grateful ? or is it a faulty unit?

Just the same for me. I followed the instructions and, voila, worked, my g6 is back.

hi i've followed all thats been said
i am using a passcard 3 and a ds lite
however upon formatting and running mputil and copying the files to root (if correct i think its the g6loader.sys and verify)
i have safely detached, tried to boot into it simply for a black screen after the passcard screen, am i missing certain files and extensions i need or is something just up with my g6?

after running mptutil the inherent loader should still be intact, so yes I'd say there's something wrong with your g6 lite. There's space specifically allocated to store the loader on the g6 and mptutil doesn't touch that. The card can look completely blank on windows explorer and will still boot if it's working properly....just has nothing to run.

Hi, newbie here. I purchased a G6 Lite last week and put some DS and GBA backups on it. Worked a treat until today.

My problem is that my games wont load. The 'clock' icon on the middle of the screen gets to about a quarter through and then freezes. I then have to switch it off.

I read through some posts and did as they said (formatting, maintenance utility, codes etc) but still nothing.


Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Are you using the G6 U-disk manager to load onto the cartridge?
Try loading onto the cartridge using safe mode and trim mode selected.
Use the secret codes to test if the cartridge memory is all ok.
Always use the latest G6 updates for both the loader and the cartridge.

My G6 worked perfectly with my DS but was not recognised by my PC apart from the blue light lighting up.

I had a similar problem but not only with the G6 Lite, anything I plugged USB into my work PC wouldn't work even though windows recognised it and told me it was ready to be used (Everything including the G6 worked fine on my PC at home). Nothing would display in explorer. I read some posts that suggested that Windows gets the drive assignments screwed up. Haven't been able to solve it exactly but... for the G6 Lite, one workaround I found that worked for me

1. Right Click My Computer and choose "Manage"
2. Click on "Disk Management"
3. You should see you're drive in the list, right click it and choose "change drive letter and paths"
4. Assign a drive letter such as "Z" that you normally don't use.
5. In my case it didn't show up in explorer but I ran the G6 Loader software I was able to choose the drive in the list.

My problem is that the computer recognizes the cart,but in never boots in the DS even adter using MPU.I have already sent mine an I am waiting for the exchange.

after i get to the green screen with "Do you reload system?", i click yes, and everything screws up from there. random 1's start appearing on the screen, and i left it alone for a few minutes, nothing happened. and by a few minutes, i mean around 35 minutes. i did all the steps twice, this is definately not helping my problem at least.
