Hacking G6 Lite Deleting Saves?

I'm very frustrated right now, heh, mainly because I went through a lot of hassles to get the save I just lost. Has anyone had a GBA save just... disappear? I have a theory as to why... This is what happened:
1. I loaded a GBA Game
2. Played the game a lot, saved.
3. Reloaded it (just wrote over) with a cht file active
4. The save was still there, played it a lot, saved it
5. Reloaded it without the cht file active
6. The save wasn't there

The thing is, I don't get how it disappeared the last time if it didn't disappear when I reloaded it with the cht file... Bleh...

Well. I've had similar problems with save files disappearing from the flashcart, but it happened with my EZ-II which is over 2 years old and I figure it's just the battery that died on me, but since yours is a new product PERHAPS we can rule this one out...
