Is that a part of a new episode?
yay, the limited simpsons edition wii, the funtendo zii xD
Yeah its new. It aired last night.
WTF Zii is copyrighted in Japan by Ninteh
This episode is prob the whole reason nintendo copywrited "Zii" I reckon, and yes it is very sad to see your favorite shows being raped with infomercials
here's the episode:
References to real products have never been this obvious before...they've changed...
Reminds me of this.
Well, maybe if you're young and under a rock...
Product-parodies (which is what it is) has been around, and very obvious, for ages.
Not to mention the hundreds of Simpsons episodes that parody a product, person, event, movie, you name it.
S'always been obvious.
This same episode had an Iphone during the couch gag too.
I've always understood them, and they often are obvious (like the recent MyPod, plus a lot of other parodies), but in the old days the references were humourously obvious; now they're just painfully obvious.
ProtoKun7 is dead-on correct, this was no parody. C'MOOOOOOOOOOON, PARODY, that's a fucking laugh. The entire plot had nothing to do with Homer's lotto story (there are almost always some crossovers of the stories in other episodes,) Lisa sees an old person enjoying the wii, Lisa gets others to enjoy the wii, they are all sad when the wii is broken. So what is being mocked ? Older people for enjoying the wii ? The wii not being dishwasher safe ? Thus, it's an obvious infomercial. If you think Nintendo DIDN'T pay The Simpsons producers for this, you are delusional.
I'm not suprised, the newer episodes usually do parodies of stuff like iPods and Wiis while I'd hardly ever see it in the older episodes.
Watch the south park episodes go god go 1 and go god go 2
There the Wii even has it'S real name
Trey Parker and Matt stone (the creators of south park) both got a Wii for free, because of that episode.
You can watch it on southparkstudios.com
I'm sure they got more than just a wii out of the deal.
It was the rare gold plated "it prints moneh!" model.
the simpsons is that still around? got tired of it and moved on to family guy a long time ago
