In a recent blog post, developer Funcom has shared additional details for the upcoming MMO Dune: Awakening. The main takeaways are as follows:

• It will not be in Early Access, this is the full launch
• It will not have a subscription
• The game will continue to be expanded through free updates, bringing new content, features, and enhancements
• There will be optional paid DLCs

Nice, I've always enjoyed a good B2P game, unfortunately most prefer the easier and more profitable option, P2P or F2P filled with gacha.

I wonder how well this game is actually going to do. I love Dune but I couldn't care less about playing this game, personally. I feel like they should have tried to release it last year when Dune 2 was still out for maximum hype. Also frame generation ew.

the graphics requirements aren't so bad. 75 GB is a little much though.

I'm not too enthusiastic given its MMO nature. I tend to be cautious of such games because there is a fair chance of them just shutting down out of the blue one day, squandering hours of effort and money spent. The only MMO I'm still willing to play is WOW. But as a whole, I'm tired of MMOs in general due to borrowed power mechanics and the eternal hamster wheel.
