Here is a conversation I just had with a Walmart employee in the electronics department. Last night I spoke to an employee who actually went to E3 but this morning on the phone I wasn't so lucky...

    ME: Electronics please...

    WALMART: One moment.

    WALMART: Electronics.

ME: Good morning. I was wondering if you had any of the nunchuk attachments for the Wii.

    WALMART: Which one?

ME: It's an accessory called the Nunchuk.

WALMART: Yes, but there are several.

ME: (Not wanting to make him angry I repeated myself in an unsure way) I think it might be called the Nunchuk.

WALMART: Well there is a flat one and a rectangle one. Which part were you looking for.

ME: I don't want the main remote, I want the other one that sells for about 20 dollars.

WALMART: So you don't want the rectangle one?

ME: Right. I think it might be called nunchuk.

WALMART: One moment... *waits* Okay, we have the rectangle one.

ME: But you don't have the nunchuck.

    WALMART: The flat one?

ME: The one called the nunchuk.

    WALMART: No.

ME: Okay, thanks for your help.

Franckly, you could have been a little more explicit.
I mean, not everyone is supposed to know all about the Wii...

The "noon chook" is certainly a weird name and if I didnt read the Wii news every day I'd certainly not know what this is about.
I'm not saying the walmart guys are genius but I wouldn't blame them for that.

maybe but i think that when you work in a Electronic departements , you need to atleast know the basic of the new stuff you sell , like when i was working at the supermarket , i knew what stuff was having a special sales and all those things. So when you work at an specialized part of a shop , you need to know what's new and what's sales well. But yeah in Walmart/Bestbuy/Futureshop half of the employes doesn't know a damn thing about what they sales. (even in some ebgames , reference to my topic of zelda)

AFAIK, KB toys doesn't sell video games anymore. They had a sale a while ago for buy one get one free video games (it was for all video games in the store, including MK DS and Tony Hawk DS when they were new).

DS Lite; day before launch day over the phone.

Me: Do you have any Nintendo DS lites in stock?

    Him: I'll go check.

    Couple of minutes go by.

Him: I'm sorry, what did you want again?

Me: Nintendo DS lite. Do you have any in stock?

    Him: I'll go check

    Few more minutes go by

Him: Sorry, we don't have any DVD lights.

Me: (WTF are DVD lights?) Not DVD lights, DS lites. By Nintendo.

    Him: Oh, I'll go check...

Turns out he found them that time and I got mine before launch day. And only 3 dead pixels too!

Techically, the term nunchuck for that nintendo device is a little awkward if you know what an actual nunchuck is: a weapon that has two rods connected by a chain. That employee may have been thinking of the weapon and made the reasonable assumption that the remote and the thumbstick were two parts of the nintendo nunchuck.
