Maybe.
It didn't mess with my Software Library, but it did mess with my Daily Records. It says I play "?" 24/7.
Thank you for the info! I plan on following this guide soon and I know the Activity Log probably isn't a big deal to most, but I love having those stats.

The Software Library is the thing I care about most, so that's great!

I was hesitant to switch to a9lh at first, but the temptation of trying something new got me in the end. And thanks to this awesome guide everything went smooth on my very first try on my O3DS XL. It was quiet time consuming (mostly due to nand backups / sd card backups taking their time so I could be sure no stuff was lost in the process... still lost one of my almost completed savegames because I wasn't paying enough attention -.-) but yet I felt safe every step of the way because of how detailed and well written that guide is. I admit, my heart skipped a beat as after the 2.1 downgrade my 3DS would boot to a black screen at first. Luckily removing the SD Card did the trick as described. I always wanted a 3DS homebrew setup that is able to withstand system updates without having to worry about giving up said entry point for homebrew. While solutions like menuhax are great, they get easily patched with the next system update.

Tl;dr: Thanks to this guide there is another happy A9LH user :)

Hi all and congratulations to plailect for the tutorial. I ' ve just followed all passages until downgrade. Now I'm facing an issue with EMUNAND9. I'm using an SDXC of 64 GB formatted in FAT32 (not with windows but with an external software). All gone smooth and my 3ds correctly read the SDXC but EMUNAND9 don't.. In order to backup my sysNAND I've inserted another SD of 4GB and copied all files over the new SD.
The backup is OK.
I 'm asking if I can follow the tutorial until install the arm9loaderhax with the 4 Gb Sd and after all, copy all data over the 64 SDXC? I don't need to run EmuNAND9 again after the installation ?
thanks..

My N3DS is already 9.2, with menuhax and rxtools set up.
Can I just start following the guide from part 4, or is better to follow part 3 and install CakesFW?

After I have installed arm9loaderhax and installed CFW on SysNAND, Will be safe to update to new fw via System Settings? The update shouldn't rewrite the sysNAND that contains arm9loaderhax?

@Plailect
  1. Copy both slot0x11key96.bin and slot0x25keyX.bin to the root of your SD card
  2. Copy the contents of the CakesFW zip to the root of your SD card
  3. Copy the firmware.bin and firmkey.bin to the Cakes folder on your SD card
  4. Copy and merge the 3ds folder from the EmuNAND9 zip to the root of your SD card
  5. Copy the TinyFormat folder from the TinyFormat zip to the /3ds/ folder on your SD card
  6. Backup every file on your SD card to a folder on your computer, all files will be deleted in the next step

Er, sorry if that's a little unclear. What I mean is, why bother throwing them on the SD at all if you're just gonna set up emunand directly after? Wouldn't the steps make more sense after you format the SD?

i used this guide on my o3ds and my n3ds and it worked perfectly, thanks a lot!
i have some question, the faq didnt answer for me: on my o3ds i used an old nandbackup with the same nnid i currently use on my n3ds. to get rid of it i injected a blank nnid file on my o3ds. now i can create a new nnid but my friendlist is still the same.
can i do a system format on my a9lhax (updated) sysnand?
is there another way to delete friendlist?

I've follow this instruction for getting the OTP
https://github.com/Plailect/Guide/wiki/Part-4-(Getting-the-OTP)
through step 17 then i tried to test running H&S that inject with FBI
but the result is getting stuck on Nintendo3DS Screen (loading screen)
so how can i solve this problem ?

My 3DS Sysnad is on FW 9.2 , Emunand is on FW 10.7
Follow the steps. I'm pretty sure step 29 solves it, but don't go AWAL on the guide. Only ask a question when you've followed the steps please.

In Part 5 (aureinand), Step 8 in Preparatory work only says to copy 'arm9loaderhax.bin and the aurei folder'
I don't see AuReiNand.dat, which in is also in the zip, mentioned anywhere. Is this correct? Isn't the .dat file the main file or something like that?
arm9loaderhax.bin seems so small at just 37kb and that aurei folder is empty (it only has a payload folder, also empty)

Thank you, thank you, thank you for this tutorial. So far, everything is working fabulously with the Cakes setup of CFW Sysnand, but I have a couple of questions.

1. I currently don't have a NNID associated with the device and have DLC for certain titles installed. If I set one up in order to download Youtube, Netflix, Hulu, will I lose my DLC? Not a huge deal, but I am curious if there will be any negatives associated with setting up a NNID on the device. I can currently go into the eshop whenever without losing anything but this is without a NNID setup.

2. The official ambassador games work perfectly on the system, but any custom GBA just give me a message that says "an error has occurred, please power off device." Any other type of custom game (NES, GBC, GB, GBA) plays perfectly. Is there something about the official nintendo GBA emulator that prevents custom GBA games from working properly?

Again, if this is the only negative from A9LH than it is amazing. Thank you again kind sir!

You need to install a patched AGB_FIRM. (Not sure if it needs to be installed on both EmuNAND and SysNAND if you're still using an EmuNAND setup, but it can't hurt.)

Thank you for the quick reply. If I have "block FIRM partition updates" selected per the guide in Cakes, do I need to uncheck that to install AGB_FIRM?
