Hacking Freeze trying to launch homebrew launcher from 3ds.guide

I am following the 3DS.guide but when I get to this step number 9 it just shows 3ds logo with black screen and just get stuck there. I double checked the guide and I didnt see any steps I missed what could be wrong?

I am using old 3DS XL (firmware 4.4.0-10U) using Installing boot9strap (MSET) any help is appreciated thank you.



Section III - Launching FBI

1. Launch the Download Play application
2. Press (L) + (Down) + (Select) at the same time to open the Rosalina menu
3. Select “Miscellaneous options”
4. Select “Switch the hb. title to the current app.”
5. Press (B) to continue
6. Press (B) to return to the Rosalina main menu
7. Press (B) to exit the Rosalina menu
8. Press (Home), then close Download Play
9. Launch the Download Play application
10. Your device should load the Homebrew Launcher
11. Launch FBI from the list of homebrew

Is the Rosalina boot.3dsx on the root of the sd card? Also, if all else fails, this luma3ds fork allows CIA files to be installed via Rosalina itself: https://github.com/kasai07/Luma3ds-Mod/releases/download/v8.1.1-RM/boot.firm

Thank you that worked. I did have the boot.3dsx on the root but I just use the fork you linked and installed cia files via that. Thank you again.
