Hi everyone (and sorry for my english)

I'm using from the begining of the USB Loader a forwarder... i've try few forwarder and i've see something weird. First, I have a Wii 4.0U from the Waninkoko firmware upgrader.

When I turn ON my wii, my TV (Sharp Aquos 37") switch to 480P. When I run the forwarder, I see my TV switching to 480i and just just just before I see the USB Loader, switch back again to 480p.

The problem is this switch from 480p tp 480i and go back to 480p cause a little delay.

Where I can find a forwarder that NOT switch to 480i?

I second this. I'm lucky enough that my composite->vga converter supports pal, ntsc, interlace and non interlaced signals seamlessly but it is still annoying to see the switching from P->I->P.

seems to be only the usbloader forwarder, i have other forwarders in other channels and they dont have this issue. The thing is this 'switching' forwarder is still the only one that seems to work with usbloader, go figure :\

Same here on my PAL system, and like stev418, it's only a usbloader forwarder "issue".

Looks like the forwarder is hardcoded to use 480i instead of just calling "VIDEO_GetPreferredMode". Try this forwarder for usb loaders, it should be working:
    http://rapidshare.com/files/231284275/Forw...iPower.zip.html
    (10 downloads ...)

It uses VIDEO_GetPreferredMode and shouldn't have that issue. And it uses fatMountSimple instead of fatinitdefault, which should solves the problem other forwarders have with usb loaders.

EDIT: no good, code dump on that one [IMG] was that using the source from the 'working' usbloader forwarder?

unless it has something to do with the libogc i use, its the one needed by snesGX and vbaGX

Just tested it. If i run it from the HBC, it's able to forward to SoftChip for me.

It's based on Spacejump's forwarder, but uses fatMountSimple instead of fatinitdefault. I'm almost sure fatinitdefault is the reason why specifc forwarders don't work for the usb loaders.

    hi wiipower,

i just compiled your source with
    the latest devkitpro and libogc.

Somehow i just get a blackscreen after running any generated dols.
    the paths are 100% correct.

Maybe it's because i'm using a sdhc card.
You know how to fix that?

Hmm, you should get at least an error message if something is wrong with the sd card access. Does your sd card work in the HBC and with other homebrew?

yes it works flawless with any other homebrew and the homebrew channel.

and no there's not a single error message or codedump
    it's a 4gb sdhc made by sandisk

Does it at least show an error if you try to open a file that doesn't exist? How do you start the forwarder? Did you test in the HBC too?

i tried running the forwarder through the homebrew channel (version 1.0.1)
I tried to bootup the latest version of fceugx btw.

i compiled a copy for a file that doesnt exist on my sd card.
at least i'm getting an error now.

    Code:
    Error: Couldn't open the file......
Press any button to reboot Wii..

Hmm so it finds the file, opens it and thinks everything goes fine but it doesn't. I'm clueless why this happens to you. It might be an incompatible .dol, because of the entrypoint, but fceugc seems to use the default one that should be compatible. Does the forwarder work for any other .dol?
