MAybe I'm just being blinded by familiarity but where are these two functions located on this site? Could some body screen cap them and post the pic or something?

You can't search in a specific forum unfortunately, though you can search a thread for a keyword using the little box at the bottom of the bottom post on any page of the thread. If you're talking about the main search feature, it's on the right hand side of the navigation bar under the GBAtemp.net logo at the top of the page.
