Hacking Formatting MicroSDXC to FAT32 on OSX?

I picked up a Sandisk Ultra 64GB Class 10 MicroSDXC to use with my Sky3DS+ (when it comes) and I understand I need to format it to FAT32 in order for it to run larger (trimmed) files.
Now excuse me if this sounds silly, but not only am I new to 3DS flash carts (this will be my first), but I'm also new to Macs (just got this laptop last year).
Anyone mind pointing out the obvious to me?
Google is giving me some inconsistent feedback.

Luckily, OS X can actually format to FAT32 on SD cards larger than 32gb without a problem! Just go to Disk Utility, select your MicroSD, hit "Erase", and select MS-DOS (FAT) from the dropdown menu.

    If your throat closes, putting oxygen in your mouth will not solve anything - as you will be introducing oxygen prior to the area of obstruction
