    Hi all,
I have a LaCie 'black box' hard drive that's 1TB large. I was wondering if anyone who has an external drive generally connected to a Mac has had any luck in dual partitioning it - I'd prefer not to have a full terabyte dedicated to games.. the closest I've been able to get OS X to do for me with Disc Utility is having the external drive formatted as WBFS for one partition, and the other having nothing on it, as the Mac can't access MBR. Any advice? Thanks!

Thanks a lot, kLiNiKaL... this is the only one of numerous programs both for Mac and PC that has been able to even recognize my drive... wish I didn't have to fork out $50 for one simple task I'd like to have done, but that's life.

Don't worry - I'm as against paying for something I ought to be paying for as the next guy, and would never give money for software when it's not of the utmost importance. Unfortunately, I was a smart-ass, and when given a link to download from a torrent site, I figured I'd simply check on a more exclusive torrent site. I hurt my ratio about 750 MB, and iPartition didn't work. The download kLiNiKaL showed me is now burning as we speak, and I'm hoping for some better results. By the way - what's with the three-leaved weed plants in your pictures? Is there some sort of reference I'm missing here?

the version i gave you is like a Rescue CD for Mac owners works on both PPC and Intel macs also

it boots into a live environment kind of like when you install OSX and you can select a load of utilities from the menu, really nice DVD for any OSX user to have in there collection, if you have troubles with the download let me know and i'll try and up it somewhere man since i know mine works.

Could've just used a Linux live cd.
fdisk, parted, or gparted can create msdos disk labels (partition tables)

I think that may not be the worst idea.. this is getting a bit frustrating. Is that open source, or should I just look for a torrent?

Mac user here, and I've never needed to use any 3rd party utility to setup dual partitioned drives for the Wii. If you create the wbfs partition as disk0, and your fat partition as disk1, it should work right then and there. I can't comment on the drive you are trying to use, but I've used a handful of drives partitioned with Disk Utility.
