Not sure I understand the question, any microSD you use has to be formatted as FAT32.

It'll work with any SD Card so long as it is no more than 128GB and is formatted to FAT32. I'd suggest a 16 or 32GB SD card if you go digital with games (or a 64 if you have/want a LOT of games) and you want to hack your 3DS, but if you go physical a 4 or 8GB should be ample storage.

I would suggest Samsung EVO (Select) they're usually good value and good quality. Just buy from big name like Amazon or Walmart and not some third-party sellers even on those sites. You just need to format it to FAT32 as others have suggested. Windows won't allow you to format cards bigger than 32GB to be formatted as FAT32. The bigger cards usually come formatted exFAT. There are people on this forum using 200GB+ on their 3DS. Biggest I use is 128GB. Just use GodMode9 to format it.
