Hacking for people who got banned for Freeshop/NXShop/SX-OS

As i see from researching ( im a noob with this). it seems that you will definitely get banned for using NXShop through homebrew since you are connected to nintendo servers to download games. So for people who chose to go this route and got banned, are you just banned from eShop? Or also from getting system updates.
If just eshop, do you still get game updates through NXShop?
if you got banned from getting console system updates as well, then you cant play newer games anymore that require a newer firmware right? or is there a way to update manually offline?
im just learning what im getting into if i decide to hack/mod my switch

Obviously you can still update via XCIs and nsps

Yes. Of course you CAN acquire the sys updates via other means

You can use any XCI game that needs the higher firmware in order to play. It’s included. So being banned it not really big of a deal.
