Thinking of getting one from modchipcentral.com, is that the best site I can get it from and no other reliable sites which can offer one for lower?

Why not just softmod a Wii?

400 sounds high up there though.

I want to play GC backups and I dont know how long it is before GC compatibility with the backup loader is 100% yet

$400 is WAY too much.
That's $250 for the Wii, and $150 for the modchip and installation.
That's just a ripoff

It will get done. When the wii backup loader was released, remember how slow the games were. Compared to then, the games run at normal speeds now. I would wait.

To buy a Wii with no mods in Aus is 400. Unless you have tonnes of cash to throw around, go softmod.

A bit more complex, but is free
