So ive literally spent ALL day trying to play my backup. Still doesnt work...

Ive installed Homebrew Channel
Ive updated all cIOS's
Ive got the Softmii loader running or whatever when i turn the Wii on.
Ive successfully loaded Preloader...

and done everything found on THIS tutorial:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SfNoyLarURw...player_embedded

----

So- I successfully got through all steps. I installed the Preloader. I ticked the skip disc update option on the hacks.ini

STILL CANNOT READ DISC!!!!

And even worse... When I restarted, the Preloader is nowhere to be found! I tried installing it again but it doesnt work...

Do I need to tick other hacks on the preloader settings in order to sucuessfully play a backup?
I burned an iso to disc so it should work....

What am i missing here?

Thanks SO much

1) Hold reset down at startup and you will find preloader again. LOL
2) You need to install cioscorp to run games thru DC. If you do not want to use cioscorp3.6 then use neogammaR8_rev15 to run it directly from disc without going thru DC.
Is this a new wii? These wiis can not read dvd-r your only way to run back-ups are using a USB loader

Look for Wiigator's backup loader, more reliable.

There's lot's written about Softmii issues and the requirement for specific system and specific corresponding versions of Preloader to match. You still haven't mentioned which system menu you're Wii is running. Do you know how to find that out? It's important.

DVD+R's are fine (they're superior to DVD-R)... make sure booktype is set to "DVD-ROM" and you should have no issues.

Dude,

Your impulsiveness is evident. You didn't research, read or follow directions carefully with your modding or in taking the time to read and respond thoughtfully and in full to those members who have tried to help you in this thread. Let me tell you, from experience, you are lucky that members have responded to your post. Often requests for help go unanswered.

Friendly advice...research further. Try to understand what you've done to your wii and what the requirements and risks are. Search threads for answers already posted to problems you experience. THEN post for help iff you can't find existing solutions in Noob Paradise.

Best
