Hacking Flatmii won't play ISO's from other regions anymore, help?

I recently updated my wii firmware because i wasn't able to play SMGalaxy2 w/o doing so, thought this would be fine since I've updated firmware a bunch of times before and flatmii would still work.

anyway I tried to play super mario bros [pal] on my ntsc system and i get a "system could not read disk" message, tested things out and found out only ntsc games will play, meaning the "force ISO region" feature is not working anymore...

*the short version:
-firmware update 4.3u
-flatmii mod
-PAL games wont work

please help?

system menu 4.2 and higher have better region detection. no modchip can bypass this. you can use a homebrew game loader to play the game, but not from the system menu.
