Hacking Flashing DS Phat with Slot-1?

Hello peoples. Feel free to move this topic if it's in the wrong section, or close it if it's already answered. But is it possible to flash a DS Phat with a slot-1 card, more specifically an R4-DS? I wanna flash my DS Phat because I read it's the only way to get some DS Download Play games to work when downloading from a flash cart. Zelda Spirit Tracks on my R4's download play worked with a DSi and Grid's worked on the DS Phat I mentioned earlier, but Mario Kart DS and Metroid Prime Hunters' download play won't work on either.

So...any help?

Yes, you can flash with a slot1 card. It's the same flashing method.
Also did you enable download play in Wood?

i'm guessing it's enabled, it works with zelda and grid

EDIT where can it be enabled? and yes i am using wood 1.31 or whatever the newest is

Doesn't it just remove the security that allowed homebrew to be sent over to the ds via a fake ds download transfer.

games not allowing ds download seems more of a flashcart problem it would most likely be in the settings or sub menu of a rom.

idk dont use r4 i use dstti, max mediadock + maxoverload,GAMES & MUSIC. ect
