Hacking flashcard trouble

a little help please, i just recently purchased this flash cart, r4i upgradeable. It seems its not working on my 3ds, here is there web site url, http://r4issdhc.com/index_en.html. I already updated the firmware for the 3ds, when i select the game icon, it doesn't work, it keeps on notifying me that an error occurred and i should look at the manual. Is there any workaround here? or should i get a new flash cart? thanks.. I think I have been duped by the salesperson, he told me that even if its a dsi f.cart, it will still work on the 3ds.
