Gaming Fixing YLOD--should I reflow solder using only a hairdryer?

Title.

I've torn down my first-gen PS3 to the mobo level (I have my replacement heating pads and thermal paste standing by) but I have no heat gun. Should I try to reflow my CPU/GPU's solder using only a hairdryer, or is that a bad idea?

I'd watch a whole bunch of youtube videos before even attempting that. Then if you feel good enough go ahead and do it, but like mgrev said be careful.
