Hi all (I'm new here), I bought a DSL off eBay with a broken right hinge and will be replacing the casing soon (and will probably post results!). I've watched enough videos and read enough guides to feel pretty confident about doing it, but there's one thing that the tutorials don't seem to cover:

Should you actually replace the hinge itself? From what I've gathered, the metal hinge is too tight and leads to cracking etc. If that's true, won't the replacement case end up cracking after a while, too?

Also, if people recommend replacing the hinge, is there somewhere to buy ones that won't end up causing cracking?

Thanks very much for your help!

EDIT: I forgot to ask: the hinge problem appears to happen on both the left and right sides of the DSL, are they both symptoms of the same problem?
