Yes, anything is better than the other 3D crap (I did like Sonic Adventure 1 & 2 though)...It looks great though, and I'll definitely be getting this.

EDIT: Nevermind, watched the video and saw the details on it (I wonder if the demo will get leaked, like the RE5 one did).

EDIT2: I just watched the video again (The first time it was buffering very slowly, and I didn't feel like waiting), and Sonic's jump animation seems very slow. His running animation seems slow as well.

Well this is just an alpha. They still have quite a while to work out all the kinks and bugs.

Though I am liking what I am seeing so far.

Not exactly Sonic 4 is it? More Sonic The Hedgehog ReBirth.

Looks pretty good. If the bugs are ironed out, this will become a good game!

This is how I remembered Sonic in my younger years only remastered and revamped, I can't wait for a demo.

It looks great but the jumping is too floating! But I guess the guy that is playing it really haven`t touch a Sonic-game (or any plattformer) before playing this demo...

It seems like there are 4 Worlds with 3 Stages and one Boss each. But maybe that`s just the demo...

But the SEGA intro and Sonic moving hand in the title menu were pretty epic [IMG]

A demo will only be out when the game is out.

Maybe it's just me, but the physics seem way off. Not only the jumping, but movement in general doesn't look quite right. And there's a lot of other wonky collision detection going on as well. Knowing Sega with the GBA version of Sonic 1, and what seems to be going on with the DS collection, I doubt this will change and Sega will disappoint once again.

I hope Sega proves me severely wrong, but I'm not counting on it.

yeahh...something doesnt look right there.....but,maybe it just depends on the console and it also wasnt a very good video. sometimes its better when you are the one actually playing it. which reminds me,I still have my Sega Genesis and Sonic 1 and 2 downstairs......hmmm....and it IS just the demo. they may probably fix some of the physics and do something about the jumping....I hope.. o.O

The physics and gravity are way off. It just looks plain weird in my opinion.

I've seen fan games that look better than this. It's just an alpha so, I'm sure it'll change for the better though.

Okay, Sega still clearly have no fucking idea what they're doing.

They're calling it Sonic 4, but everything so far appears to be a generic clone of past sonic games, down to title cards, level design, Badniks. NO originality.

The graphics are new and "shiny" (try plastic), but the music sounds retro like on the Genesis, can't they make up their minds and go for a certain direction?

    I'm not impressed...

^ That's "originality" to them. The game is meant to be a throwback to older Sonic games.

Anyway, most of your criticisms seem like positives. We like retro throwbacks.

Yes but their direction is utterly confused.

Retro throwbacks? Awesome, we love those, like Megaman 9. They played like the old games, but offered completely new level designs and implements.
A new interpretation of the old games? Awesome, go for it, we like Contra Rebirth, a great remake of an old game, gone HD.

But they can't decide on one or the other, the result is some directional mess.

Despite those flaws, maybe if we're lucky the gameplay will more than make up for it. [IMG]

    Quote of the day. [IMG]

Anyway, even though the game is going for the "classic" vibe, I'm still a bit uneasy. Granted, this is only an early demo, but in the video I saw, there was a multitude of collision detection bugs that gave me cold-sweated flashbacks to the days of falling through the loop-de-loops in Sonic Heroes. They will most likely be smoothed out in the end. Gosh, I hope they're smoothed out in the end.

I'm telling' ya, Sonic Team should have let Dimps handle this game. They are more than capable of delivering a fast, fun Sonic game. In my eyes, Dimps is the new Sonic Team, for everything they touch is golden.
