Hardware FIRST POST: Switch not turning on, short near ALC5639

My first post.
I am coming from repairing mostly MacBook Airs.
This is my first attempt at a Switch repair.

This unit won't turn on.
No water damage:
Drawing 40mA when plugged in.

I found one cap short near ALC5639.
This is a Realtek audio chip correct?
I am not sure if this is a related issue to the power on or not.
I will have to order a chip as I don't have a donor board.
Could this cause a power on issue?
I am planning on removing the ALC5639 and seeing if this short resolves.

I have already checked the USB connector continuity, it looks good.

However, near MAX77620H I found a bunch of short CAPS
The large ones are inductors so I assume those are good but 2-3 caps are short
See the image below.
This is a power management IC correct?
I was going to order a new chip for this one as it seems to be the responsible IC.




I was expecting the issue to be at the charging chip/M92T36

The Nintendo Checks.pdf document I found does reference that the ALC5639 has some direct input from M92T36.

Any assistance would be much appreciated.

How did you measure shorts? Diode mode with red probe on the ground? To op i think short on the left is normal but not on other capacitors. Perhaps try to remove max ic and measure again.
Inductors (bigger size) are continuous so "short" is desired on them.

Usually, shorts on caps mean that the charging chip is bad. Have you check that chip? it should be labeled "M92T36"

My m92t36 has no shorts, but the chip next to it has one.
I have recently watched a video by northridge fix who has the same short on that chip and found it to be a bad diode.
I've not had chance to remove that diode yet but hopefully removing that could help?

Took the diode off before, same short, very annoyed!

I'm in the middle of a few switch repairs. If I get the reballing procedure down pat and consoles repaired I will try Both chips out. The OLED Switch has the MAX7720H I can see. Unless somebody here has done that and beat me to it.
