The evolution of the Nintendo Switch hacking scene takes a major step forward with the impending release of RetroArch, a wildly popular emulator frontend. Known for being on nearly every possible platform under the sun, RetroArch’s development team has brought about the first official build of a version for the Nintendo Switch. If you install it onto your Switch, you can expect features like savestates, OpenGL support, and even netplay. The usual suspects of games from the NES, SNES, and GBA run well, and there’s even PS1 titles booting, to various results. RetroArch has already been running on the Switch in the past, (through Lakka) but this will be the first officially supported version by the Libretro team, and means that active development will include a Nintendo Switch version with each major update. A full version is scheduled to drop soon, with a nightly build at the link below.

There isn't a release yet. You're hyping people up for a beta, essentially. Why? This is just asking for trouble. Holy hell, you're "source" even points out that fact. Didn't think it was fishy that it points to the "nightly" folder?

RetroArch’s official team states it as an official release, and they’ve retweeted such saying so

Until it hits stable, I wouldn't call it an official release. But maybe that's just me.

A lot of other outlets are reporting it as fully out, fwiw. I’ll amend the title then, thanks for the clarification.

If people would just wait a day, lol
We currently still have stability issues on some cores, so I rather have it not spread like a wildfire

How does PS1 and Gamecube run?
Would be cool if someone tries that out and pushes a Video.
Try games like Tomb Raider && Mario Kart DD

Okay I was confused by this picture at first glance, but now I understand it. Thought the Header relates to the picture about the cores. Nvm

So is this RetroNX but now with blessing from the libretro team or... am I reading things incorrectly?

Even so, damn cool. I like lakka for the switch a lot, it runs great (although I occasionally have issues with game freezes when closing PSP content).

It's basically the "new RetroNX". It still uses all the retronx code under the hood.
Nxrgui stuff is still on my todo, will need to wait for after release.
All code is written by the RetroNX Team with libretro's guidance, also they help us a lot, for example adding menu options etc.
and of course everything is done upstream now

Oooooh cool. Question though: Will this change things w/ lakka? Would you suggest me to switch to retroarch instead or can I safely stay on lakka for the switch?
