Need Passme device for bootup when upgrading ???

Plz dunt mind at me for many questions
I'm from Myanmar and the reason I'm asking these questions is I dunt have chance to buy other devices except Supercard Mini SD 1gb...(even that Supercard can be obtained while my bro's in Malaysia and he'll return on 13th)
That's why I want to know
If i need only Supercard Mini SD to play roms....I'll tell my bro to buy..

You might be able to, but there could be compatability issues. Updating the firmware is easy to do, almost like running a homebrew game. But besides the supercard, you'll need a "passme" like device.
