Firmware version of a fresh bought 3DS?

    Does Nintendo actually ship their 3DS's with today's current firmware or do they just keep them non updated? Thank ya.

    Typically a 3DS is shipped with whatever firmware was current at the time of manufacture. That's usually about 2-3 months in the past.

    For example, if you bought a 3DS today you would probably get firmware 2.0.0-4, which was the current firmware 2 months ago.

    Depends on when did they arrive to the store, I suppose. My friend just bought one and it came with FW 2.0.0-2U, if it helps.
