yes but we're talking about convenience here. you can access google via the xmb, no need to open the core internet browser itself! And more video playback options!
I'm not getting excited until they add youtube being able to be seen through internet browser and in game xmb so you can choose your own music. P.S. I hope they show or at least talk about it when E3 comes around!
I can't open IGN from work. Can somebody post the list of possible changes? What sort of video support are they adding? You're not just talking about the internet browser are you? Please tell me they're adding divx/xvid support?
what ever happened to the last custom firmware? they said is gonna be released but PS1 support for phat PSP's would be dropped I hope this custom firmware when ever its released doesnt do that... :/
They just said that there adding the ability to google search strait from the xmb and also the ability to make your movies faster or slower.
This update is nothing to get excited about. Google via XMB = Search first, open browser second. Saves a whole 1 minute, whoop-de-do. The 2x speed and .5x speed options in video playback are a mediocre improvement, at best. This is what they call a 4.00 worthy update? Feels more like a 3.96 to me.
No, SEARCH FIRST, WEB PAGE SECOND. How could you say it would open another browser if the search engine is a type of browser itself? And have you seen those features to conclude those? And they would never say "convenient" if its not, well for some users. Mediocre improvement is good enough for me.
The Google search will basically allow you to enter your query, then launch the PSP browser for the results, via Google.
With the XMB google, type in a query, and open the searched links. With the internet browser, open the browser, type in google, open google, type in a query, and open the searched links.
They can't name it 3.96 since they already released 3.96 with a game also they better add cooler stuff cause google search strait through xmb still sucks since we have a crappy browser.
