Not sure if this is really USN material but hey- firefox 15 dropped and among some fairly average changes was the fairly boring sounding "WebGL enhancements, including compressed textures for better performance" with probably the other of note being improved auto updates (whether this is Chrome/virus style sideloading updates abusing the users folder is I will have to confirm).

Personally I gave it a spin and wind in some levels and such and that would be an absolutely functional version of Unreal Tournament 2k and if nothing else I can see it light a fire under flash and do much to dispel the myth that browser games are not capable of being fully fledged games. Theoretically it could be browser independent as well. Further on- onlive successful version?
