Hey, I was hoping someone could point me to some tutorials or help me out. I'm completely new to 3DS hacks and such, so I'm worried about messing up. I'm planning on getting Fates soon and would like to try this out, but I feel like I'm not getting anywhere. I can't tell if it would be simpler to do the HANS version or the NTR CFW version, and both seem like they're iffy right now because of the recent 11.3 update.

Well, for now, you're stuck with the HANS route. There's a video in the first post. The info in it may be outdated, but it'll help point you in the right direction.

BootNTR's recent update for 3.4 breaks Awakening and Fates's SSM hack. If you're using 3.4, try a different NTR version. If you're using a different NTR version, I can't help you.


First of all, downloading the DLC =/= the Special Edition. Second of all, please provide screenshots of your SD card root and your plugin folder (if you have one) otherwise I can't help you.

Side note, once trying another path in-game, the game in the library defaults simply to "fire emblem fates". No Birthright or Conquest.

That folder in your plugin flolder is for the US Special Edition, not the European Special Edition. The EU SE title ID is 000400000017A800.

The EU version of the game is different than the US in that regards.

I'm not sure why the first post links to something different, but here's the correct download for the hack. What you're looking for is in the Gay Fates v0.5.1/Gay Fates/v 0.5.1/NTR CFW Version/EUR Special Edition folder. Copy both of those folders to the root of your SD card then start BootNTR, then the game.

Use BootNTR Selector and choose either 3.3 or 3.4. I've heard reports that 3.4 on Awakening or Fates (with the latest version of BootNTR Selector) causes infinite loading or a black screen after loading the game. Are you on firmware 11.3 or 11.2?

11.2, I refuse to update till things are 100% stable or I find a reason to update. I'll give 3.3 a try and pray for the flashy green screen.

Edit: Groddamnit. Used 3.3 and no flashy screen. Will try 3.4.

I seem to have two. One I can only assume is DLC, given it's size, with the ID 00040086C00179500
The main one has the the title ID of 000400000017A400

And you're positive that you downloaded the special edition for EU? The only title IDs of EU Fates are 000400000017A800 (SE), 0004000000179500 (Birthright), and 0004000000179700 (Conquest).

I'm positive I downloaded what freeshop gave me, which given my thinking now, seeing as it had no files once the fates branched (AKA no conquest, fates, or revelation), is probably some sort of trial version? A quick google search of that code though gave me a post from gbatemp about the title key being a USA one, which only confuses me more. AGH, MY BRAIN.

Yeah, that's what it is. That title ID is for the first 5 chapters of the game, because during chapter 6, you're prompted to go to the eShop to download the rest of the path that you chose (BR or CQ, Rev is DLC [unless you have the SE]). Try downloading the the full SE game from that iso site.

They are, at least for the US. I transferred my saves from my legit BR cart to the SE CIA with no issues.
